King Of High School/High School King Of Savvy

The drama has loads of confusing and long titles so I will just call it King Of High School since it's the simplest and that's what I've been calling it.

It was breezy and fun to watch, despite being not logical (how on earth does someone juggle between school and work and date and family.... Korea is quite famous for being really hard on education, with long school hours and all so....) I do like the relationships displayed here, FAMILY is a key in the story and I love how the warmth and fuzzy feeling of the interactions between the family is being done. King Of High School isn't one of those great rom coms that makes you feel giddy in love but it was enjoyable, touching and with the right kinds of comedy and tension.

THE CHARACTERS

Seo In Guk as Lee Min Suk/Lee Hyung Suk
Seo In Guk portrays both the brothers that apparently looks exactly the same....HAHA ok the logic. Lee Min Suk is a 18 year old that doesn't care less about studying and school but is a star of his school's hockey team. He was forced to disguise as his brother when he disappeared suddenly and so he became both Lee Min Suk a 18 year old student and Lee Hyung Suk, a 28 year old director of a company. What I like most about Lee Min Suk is that he is just like a normal teenager that is quite lost in life, he spends most of his time with his two friends or in hockey training and he acts and talks just like a normal teenager we might see in our life.
Seo In Guk absolutely killed it in the two roles, his transformation between the two roles are so well done that I almost forgotten that they are both Seo In Guk!!!!! Seo In Guk impressed me in Reply Me 1997 but was so easily forgotten in Master Sun but he was absolutely brilliant here again... The show is already worth watching because of Seo In Guk's solid acting and Lee Min Suk.

Lee Ha Na as Jung Soo Young
First of all, I will like to apologize in advance if my comment on her sounds bias but that was sincerely what I felt when I was watching her on the show.
Jung Soo Young is a 27 year old office assistant(?), she is relatively liked by her peers and colleagues despite being weird... extremely weird. She has a long term crush on the company's director (Lee Soo Hyuk's character) but gets rejected in a kind of mean way. Soo Young lives with her younger sister that has a huge crush on Lee Min Suk in school but little does she know that she starts falling for the same person whom she know as her company's new director Lee Hyung Suk.
I have absolutely nothing against Lee Ha Na, in fact I've never seen nor heard of her before this but I couldn't stand her acting style. I totally understand that Soo Young is suppose to be super weird and awkward but I can't help but feel unconnected to her character and slightly irritated at times. She definitely acted well but she didn't manage to make viewers accept and embrace Soo Young's weirdness and awkwardness which was a flaw and honestly, if I manage to love Soo Young I will probably love this drama much much more. However, there are viewers that love her character and her acting but there are also a group of people that are like me, affected by her portray of the character so it really depends on how you feel *shrugs*

Lee Yul Eum as Jung Yoon Ah
Yoon Ah is Soo Young's younger sister whom has a huge crush on her school mate Lee Min Suk and follows him around and basically, makes her life revolve around him. Yoon Ah is a lovable character, she is strong, sensible (except when it comes to stuff involving Min Suk), pretty smart, fierce and of course pretty. (I find her way too skinny though)
Lee Yul Eum is considered a lucky rookie actress to land into a leading role so quickly (she only has 2 acting credits if I'm not wrong), she does act decently well, nothing to rave about but pretty good for a rookie actress.

Lee Soo Hyuk as Yoo Jin Woo
Yoo Jin Woo is the director of the company in which Soo Young works in and is also the one that Soo Young has a crush on. Yoo Jin Woo is a character that can be hot and cold at the same time, he can be extremely nice at one moment but be mean almost right after. Jin Woo is no way a unlikable character but his not really nice way of treating others sometimes may annoy a little, but in the end he turns out to be a great lovable character.
I'm new to Lee Soo Hyuk despite hearing his name before (2NE1 mv if I'm not wrong) and now he certainly caught my attention. He is super cute and handsome and cute haha, his acting isn't exactly the definition of good but he was good enough for the role. I would love to see more of Lee Soo Hyuk anyway (He is going to be the only reason why I'm going to try Valid love despite not liking the storyline nor the cast at all)

    FROM DRAMAWIKI

What I appreciate and like most about the drama is that despite it's quite nonsensical and illogical logic of being able to act as a student/director/boyfriend all at the same time (Isn't korea known for it's extra stressful and long school system...?), the drama is actually pretty logical and realistic when you ignore the multi tasking, especially the characters, Lee Min Suk is an interesting character but he and his 2 friends are actually just like most 18 year olds (energetic, no interest in studying, going through puberty kind of symptoms haha) so it's pretty cute to see regular interactions of typical 18 year olds. (It's a 360 degree different from the 18 year olds we see in Heirs haha). Soo Young is a character rarely seen because she is just that extremely awkward and weird but she is realistic to some point, there are people that thinks and act as weird as her around me too, Yoon Ah is pretty real too, she is just like an energetic, overenthusiastic 18 year old at the stage of being boy crazy heh. The story and interactions of the characters are also moving, cute but yet seem so real. I love watching the interactions of the characters and I love how the show is light hearted and easy on eyes to watch. The show is actually also telling a revenge story from an different viewpoint as compared to other revenge dramas so it is much easier to watch. (A little like Pinocchio's)

    IN CONCLUSION
Amazingly strong performance from Seo In Guk, light hearted story, great characters(I do like the all the characters especially the supporting ones but as stated above, Soo Young's overly weird personality made it hard for me to understand and love her and connect with her throughout the story). King Of High School is by a new writer, and I have to say she did impress me well so I'm definitely going to stay tune to her future drama works.
