Hello I am finally back because my exam have finally ended....................... :-)))))) I'm gonna blog much more frequently now since I am really free so let me first start with reviewing the shows I've watched but didn't have the chance to review yet.
Trot Lovers sounded interesting but as the show goes on, it received pretty negative reviews and little attention but I still chose to watch it simply because of my love for Eunji and yup I am disappointed with the show after all, it has potential but the writer kinda screwed it up.
The Characters:
Jung Eun Ji as Choi Choon Hee
Eunji is undeniably one of the best idol actress (I am sure anyone who has watched reply me 1997 will agree), so she do deserve a lead role in the big 3 so fast but ever since reply me 1997, I was not really impress with her acting in That Winter The Wind Blows(she was the second female lead) and here. Don't get me wrong, she is still great but maybe I have highhhh expectations for her and I have to admit, she probably fits her role in reply me 1997 best due to her real life personality. Despite my love for Eunji, it can't save this show from being a mild disaster.... Choi Choon Hee is a strong girl that works many part time jobs and her life gets worse when her father ran away when they have to repay debts so she was pretty much force into going to the entertainment industry to earn a living for her and her younger sister. She sounds like one of the many Korean drama female leads huh, honestly Choon Hee isn't a really great written character but still she's likeable and her female power do make her slightly different from those mainstream female leads we see. When the show was in it's planning stage, it wanted IU as Choon Hee but of course IU rejected probably due to the fact that her best friend's ex is the male lead (Yoo In Na), but really, I can't imagine her as Choon Hee, IU and trot? that's a no, IU has a amaaaaazing voice but doesn't suit the trot category. Eunji's voice however is thick enough to sing trot well and she acts well so the role is pretty much made for her.
Ji Hyun Woo as Jang Joon Hyun
Ji Hyun Woo chose this as his first post military project and it was a disappointment..... in case you didn't know, the news that him and Yoo In Na broke up was released when he was just out from the army and he looks truly upset during the press conference when talking about her which is a pity since they are sooooooooooo cute together in Queen In Hyun's man. Ok sorry for going out of topic
haha, so Ji Hyun Woo didn't impress me with his acting here, he was simply unconvincing as a "bad man", maybe he should just stick with his nice oppa roles. Jang Joon Hyun is a horrible character and I do mean horrible. He is nice sometimes but most of the time he is selfish, rude and selfish again urgh. Most of the time, a bad character is always better than some nice guy as we can see the character growth throughout the show and yes Jang Joon Hyun did change and become better but I just strongly dislike him..... *spoiler?* HE SOLD CHOON HEE TO A BAR FOR MONEY SO THAT HE CAN FREAKIN STAY IN A HOTEL!1* as in like, it's okay to do horrible stuff and then redeemed yourself throughout the rest of the show but selling her off is way too much. I do not even know what the writer was thinking to write something like that, I rather him bang her car or something idk something silly is still better than this.
Shin Sung Rok as Jo Guen Woo
Don't worry, he doesn't kill people here, he is perfectly normal (kinda? I guess) Jo Guen Woo is the CEO of the record company the otp couple are signed too, he is good looking, nice and pretty much just like a typical nice guy second male lead who of course lose to the mean guy. *nice guys finish last* I never really liked Shin Sung Rok but he does hit my soft spot with his character here haha, he isn't my definition of good looking but he is quite cute at certain parts of the show.
Lee Se Young as Park Soo In
A typical bitchy second lead *shrugs*, she is popular among guys and the daughter of a famous singer which is now a part of her management company, she becomes jealous of Choon Hee when she gets the attention of both the guys and wins a singing contest(I am not sure if it's considered a contest but anyway she lost). I can totally understand why she did what she did, she worked so hard for so many years but just lost to a random girl that just came in, if I was in her shoes I will definitely feel upset and hate on Choon Hee but of course I won't do what she did. -in conclusion, I do understand her point of view but of course I do not support her for what she has done-
I have watched Lee Se Young once, in Hot Blooded Youth but she was pretty forgettable there as her role had quite little screen time despite being one of the main characters. Her acting here wasn't fantastic but was good enough for a second lead role and hopefully she can continue doing well and become a successful actress in the future. (she was a child actress so she isn't a rookie to acting at all)

IN CONCLUSION
Poor typical story line with mainstream characters that have almost 0 chemistry so not worth the watch. However I do have to admit I enjoyed it a little still and it was fun despite it's stupidity sometimes.
