big man review

Before i start, let me just say that as a Jung So Min fan girl i may be slightly bias to her haha sorry but i feel that she does deserve it so.....

This is honestly a melo revenge drama set up we have seen a million times, this show was nothing special so honestly unless you are a fan of revenge kdramas (honestly i am a fan but there has been way too many so i'm getting sick of it too), or if you really love the writer or any of the main cast then well it's still worth a watch since it isn't half bad so haha.

THE CHARACTERS:

Kang Ji Hwan as Kim Ji Hyuk
One thing i love about Ji Hyuk is the fact that he is a really warm character, and i can actually feel a connection with his character? Ok i have to admit, his character is just like a typical revenge melo hero whom is hardworking and nice but somebody does something wrong to them and they become fierce and scary *rawr*. I have no idea why i can feel connected with his character thus obviously making me understand him well so is a big reason why i enjoyed this actually. Kang Ji Hwan didn't do a exceptionally well job but he did well enough (he always does well so...haha), I've watch Kang Ji Hwan in his first leading drama which is a daily drama with Han Hye Jin but sadly, it was soooo long ago that i don't remember him AT ALL oops, but after that i watched him in lie to me and hated it oops again but i finally came to like him when i watch Incarnation Of Money which is honestly a flawed drama but somehow i enjoyed it though.

Lee Da Hee as So Mi Ra
I like Lee Da Hee and is aware that she acts well (she did soooo well in Secret Love and I Hear Your Voice although she was the second leading lady), but sadly to say she didn't bring out a good performance as Mi Ra and the writer is partly to be blame as she must be one of the more poorly written and undeveloped female lead in dramaland gawd. Mi Ra is pretty much like a robot whom is the girlfriend of the guy Ji Hyuk is taking revenge on but somehow (we don't even know how ok) she just completely leave him alone for Ji Hyuk, can the writer at least tell us//show us how she even feels for once??? Ok i have to admit her initial boyfriend is a horrible person but sadly to say he really loved her and she just doesn't show any emotions zz
In conclusion, Mi Ra is a horribly written leading lady that is super undeveloped (So i guess it isn't Lee Da Hee's fault since she at least tries to make the character likable)

Choi Daniel as Kang Dong Suk
And this is the antagonist of the story aka Mi Ra's boss and ex and the guy our hero is taking revenge against. Despite not watching anything with Choi Daniel before, i actually find him kind of familiar somehow haha, i can't say he did well as Dong Suk as i can't find anything special to mention but he was pretty decent. Dong Suk is the son of a rich cooperation but he has heart problems so when he gotten into a car accident, he needs a heart to save him and his family tried to use Ji Hyuk's heart by keeping him near to them and tricking him to believe that he is their long lost son, so obviously when he found out of the truth, he wanted revenge so yup that is where the climax begins. Despite all the flaws and how horrible Dong Suk is, i felt that he really loved Mi Ra throughout so obviously he wasn't happy when Ji Hyuk and Mi Ra got close and feels that she actually like him.

Jung So Min as Kang Jin Ah
Saving the best for last, we have Jung So min as Jin Ah yay!!!! I have to admit despite enjoying the show as a whole, i wanted to give up after the first 3 episodes but continued till the end because of Jung So Min and her character. She is the best written character from this drama and obviously Jung So Min did the role justice by giving Jin Ah life and making almost everyone that watches this love her. She is Dong Suk's little sister who is ignorant of her parents and her brother's doings to Ji Hyuk and while he became her "brother", she fell for him and stayed with him when he was having revenge(yes she left her house and family) but obviously she could never get his heart because he likes Mi Ra since the start so..... Jin Ah is a smart, witty, strong, princessy character that is really interesting and fun and a bonus that Jung So Min gets to portray her. Jung So Min is still considered a rookie actress having to grab leading roles right after debut with Bad Guy (she was not the main cast but had a large role), the lovable Oh Ha Ni in Playful Kiss and a lead in Can We Get Married. I love her since Playful Kiss with her interesting screen presence and great acting skills bringing Ha Ni alive (i can't imagine anyone else as Ha Ni) so she deserves the love she gets.

Synopsis

There is a world only for the rich and privileged. There, the laws and principles are different from a normal society. In this corrupted world, people needed a superman. This superman is not your typical superman. He does not fly or defeats evil spirits with superpower. Rather he is born as an orphan and has lived a life of being treated with contempt. He has no family or educational background. Although he seems like nothing much, he is relatable. Then, he meets a woman. She came to kill him but he falls in love with her. She brings out a real superhero in him. Then the miracles start to happen.
A drama about a man named Kim Ji Hyuk (Kang Ji Hwan), living a third-rated life gets involved in plan to save Kang Dong Suk (Choi Daniel), a rich family's only son who needs a heart transplant. Kim Ji Hyuk gets a new life as the eldest son of the rich family but realizes later that it was all a plan and faces the irregularity of the world.
In the process of changing his life, Kim Ji Hyuk meets So Mi Ra (Lee Da Hee), his destiny. She is Kang Dong Suk’s girlfriend and is well aware of that Ji Hyuk is adopted for Dong Suk’s heart transplant and even tries to kill him. Then, Mi Ra starts to open her mind to Ji Hyuk who is ignorant, but also considerate. Mi Ra who has only cared about Kang Dong Suk is looking at someone else. However, Dong Suk cannot give up Mi Ra for Ji Hyuk.

From dramawiki

Like i've said, there is nothing worth watching except Jung So Min's character so... just to emphasise again, unless you are a fan of the cast//writer or love melo revenge dramas then well you will probably like this.

IN CONCLUSION
A alright drama that i enjoyed despite wanting to give up at one point or another.

(I WANTED TO GIVE 8.5 BUT I'LL GIVE IT A 9 FOR JUNG SON MIN'S CHARACTER HAHA)
