pretty random post.... talking about similar dramas :-)
1. IN TIME WITH YOU( TAIWAN ) VS REPLY ME 1997 ( KOREA )
-In Time With You Taiwan
DIFFERENCES:
school life- focused more on reply me 1997 and less on in time with you also the relationship between the leads on in time with you were bad in school but changed however in reply me 1997 the leads have really good friendship but however changed at later part of the story
30s life-focused more on in time with you and the fact that the female lead is worried about herself being single at 30 is one of the main theme there but in reply me 1997 the 30s life was only depicted during the last few episodes and seeing the actors which are barely 20 act as 30 was kinda funny haha
friendship- something not really depicted in in time with you but in reply me 1997, they use friendship as one of the main themes
past relationships- something depicted in in time with you but not reply me 1997
SIMILARITIES:
female lead-they pretty much have the same strong personality not usually seen in dramas which make it pretty lovable
male lead- devoted and super in love with the female leads and also instantly a scary cat in front of the female lead haha super cute things about both the male lead. Lastly they also fall in love with the female lead in high school secretly... kinda or pretty much only the female lead didn't realised herself
realistic- i can't say that both are exactly realistic but much more realistic than usual dramas
popularity- not only winning many awards, in time with you have rave ratings too making it a super success, reply me 1997 although showing only in a cable channel but is super popular in korea, making it one of the best cable drama both quality and rating.
first love- both female leads are the male leads first love
acting - excellent acting from the cast of both dramas, athough reply me 1997 got both rookies as the main lead and cast but the acting was super super super good, of course in time with you have good acting too as the leads are well known for their good acting and acted for really long already
IN CONCLUSION: although both are super popular, have good ratings and well love by almost everyone that watch it..... i kinda prefer reply me 1997 because of the well written script and the friendship that leaves me with tears almost every episodes

DIFFERENCES:
evil sister- an extra factor that's found in when love walked in that makes in even more annoying
family- adopted family actually... in romantic princess the adopted parents was super nice to her but in when love walked in not exactly....
SIMILARITIES:
female lead - both lead a poor life and work really hard and all in a sudden they find out they have a super rich grandfather looking for them
male lead - they hate the female lead but somehow somewhere falls in love with them
grandfather - super rich ceo grandfather that's finding them
guy friends - both have handsome guy friends around them and one of their friends also falling in love with the female lead
IN CONCLUSION: both are viewer rating success but quality umm not really. romantic princess is more glamour and fun to watch but when love walked in was annoying and a pain to watch oops personal option thus romantic princess is much better.
3. SECRET GARDEN ( KOREA ) VS BIG ( KOREA )
- Secret Garden

- BIG
DIFFERENCES:
pace- secret garden's story tends to be a little slow but big's story escalates quickly
female lead - the female lead in secret garden tend to be strong on the outside but weak inside but big's female leas weak both in and outside
male lead - instead of the usual CEO male lead used in korean dramas, big uses a student and thus becoming a noona romance that doesn't exactly look like want due to the body switching element. secret garden still uses the CEO male lead thing.
SIMILARITIES:
body switching - although big switches the main male lead aka doctor with student and secret garden switches female lead with male lead
writer - both written by popular k drama scriptwriters aka kim eun sook for secret garden and hong sisters for big but it's a success for secret garden and big flop for big
IN CONCLUSION: many people didn't enjoy big but i actually did probably because i kept my expectations low because of other people's review but it was still really fun and enjoyable, secret garden was boring at the start but became really good and pretty much become a classic k drama to me. so yup idk how to choose between the two )-:
