Reset Review

I watched this with zero expectations and after I finished, I kind of wish I didn't spend my time on this. (NOTE: I DID NOT SAY WASTED MY TIME BECAUSE I DID TRULY ENJOY IT FOR THE FIRST FEW EPISODES)

I only had one reason for watching this, Kim So Hyun. I really really like her as an actress and I am curious to see her in a leading lady role despite her being only 15 years old. (she looks really mature for her age) Reset started off well, engaging me from episode one but around halfway through, I started to dislike it when the story gets out of hand and ends up moving aimlessly.... *I guess those that have watched this will get what I mean* Reset is actually my first OCN drama and my first cable drama that's not from TVN (I didn't watch any JTBC/Channel A drama yet), I've heard wonders about crime dramas produced by OCN and I have to say i'm disappointed in this, I do enjoy watching crime thriller dramas but seldom watch Korean ones (I do watch American crime dramas). Although I didn't enjoy nor am I impress by Reset, I will still try other OCN crime dramas because I do love the genre.

THE CHARACTERS

Kim So Hyun as Jo Eun Bi/Seung Hee
Jo Eun Bi is a homeless 17 year old girl that stays around with bad company and gets herself into bucket loads of trouble, she is fierce, violent but still emotionally weak and wishes for a family or someone who will love her. Seung Hee is Cha Woo Jin's(Chun Jung Myung) first love who died partially because of him, she only appears in flashback scenes so there isn't much we know about her except that she seems really nice and gentle which is quite different from Eun Bi despite them looking exactly the same. (Duhh both characters are played by Kim So Hyun)
At a young age of 15, Kim So Hyun have already made quite some name for herself and she has loads of acting credits under her belt. She is one of the most popular child actress and certainly have really solid acting, good looks, looks mature, good sense of fashion and lovable. She made quite an impression on me since I Miss You as Yoon Eun Hye's child counterpart and I have watched her in many drama since, she have a really heavy part in the drama and the story revolves around her so despite the heavy responsibility and her young age, she did extremely well, she manages to make Eun Bi likable and well, certainly didn't let the other adults or more experience actors outshine her.

Chun Jung Myung as Cha Woo Jin
Cha Woo Jin is a prosecutor who wants to solve the mystery behind the incident that cause his first love, Seung Hee's death. Cha Woo Jin sees Eun Bi that looks exact to Seung Hee and tries to help her after she gets accused for murder.
Chun Jung Myung really looks like a teddy bear and no way he looks like he is in his mid 30s, he has a baby face which somehow reminds me of Kim Soo Hyun haha. This is my first actual time watching him act, he is good but nothing fantastic, the second half of the story kind of ruined everything for me.

A crime-thriller drama about the relentless pursuit of a prosecutor toward the man who murdered his first love, while the statute of limitations is getting closer.
Prosecutor Cha Woo Jin lost his first love, Seung Hee, 15 years ago. He then meets a high school girl, Jo Eun Bi, who looks like his first love. Their meeting unleashed secrets and chain of events between Cha Woo Jin, Seung Hee, Jo Eun Bi, and the criminal.

    FROM DRAMAWIKI

In case you are wondering, no, there isn't a love line between the almost 20 year old difference Kim So Hyun and Chun Jung Myung but i think they don't exactly look like they are 20 years apart since Kim So Hyun looks like she's 18 and Chun Jung Myung looks like he is in his early 20s. The story started off quite well, it was intense and exciting but as it goes on, the writer seems to lose his/her sense of direction and just write the story really aimlessly (I don't want to use other words because i will sound really mean), it's hard to believe that the first few episodes is written by the same person as the second half because the second half was simply that bad.
I do like the two supporting characters, Investigator Go and Chief Han since they made the drama much better, but no, nothing managed to save the drama from the mess it became.

    IN CONCLUSION
I wish I can reset the clock and not spend 10 hours on this aimless drama - in simple English, it means don't watch for your own sake.

    Personal Ratings: 8/10
    How much it deserves: 7.5/10
