Master Sun review

*Please note that I've done a review for this drama a long time ago but it was a short review so this time I'm going to do a full review(I will delete the old one)*

It's been more than a year since I've watched this but i still remember it clearly, it captured and stole my heart away quickly within the first few episodes and i got so addicted to it i was basically obsessed.

THE CHARACTERS

So Ji Sub as Joo Joong Won/Joo Goon
Joo Joong Won is a cold hearted CEO of a shopping mall who can't read due to an accident that occurred in his teenage years. He is arrogant, unhelpful and mean until he meets Tae Gong Shil whom he thought was a fraud originally, he starts going into her world and slowly starts to fall for her although it took him quite some time to admit it.
So Ji Sub *screams x1000* I have never seen So Ji Sub anywhere else before this and i automatically fell in love with him within the first two episodes. He did well as a cold hearted CEO hehe and his chemistry with Gong Hyo Jin was basically on fire, they were so cute in the drama and even in the behind the scenes video. (i'm still heavily shipping this couple-they are known as SoGong couple HAHA) According to what I've read, this is actually his first rom com and of course he impressed viewers with his comically cute portray of Joo Joong Won.

Gong Hyo Jin as Tae Gong Shil/Tae Yang
Yes Tae Gong Shil is known as a sun and i still don't get it why but well, she became the sun and light to Joo Joong Won's world. Tae Gong Shil used to be a super popular kid in her schooling days but after an accident that caused her to be in a coma for a long time, she started being able to see ghost and ghost approaches her for help and favors because she apparently looks shiny to them HAHA twilight logic. She gets really frustrated about the ghost constantly ruining her daily life which caused her to not being able to get a proper job, date, or even sleep and eat in peace but Joo Joong Won appears in her life and whenever she touches him, the ghost disappears. (he's her ghost shelter)
Tae Gong Shil is a typical candy character so there's nothing much special about her except her being so damn cute and being able to make Joong Won go gaga about her so having Gong Hyo Jin act as Gong Shil is great because Gong Hyo Jin manage to make us love Gong Shil the way Joong Won does. Gong Hyo Jin's acting was superb as a women that looks crazy almost all the time, can we talk about how different she looks and feel from her character in It's OK That's Love? It's quite upsetting that she didn't get any awards for her performance here though.....

Seo In Guk as Kang Woo
Kang Woo is a security guard of the mall who has a mission of his own, he lives near Tae Gong Shil with a motive but he ends up protecting her and liking her a little. Kang Woo is probably the most forgettable character in the drama, his character wasn't exactly well written and definitely less attractive than the rest. (Isn't it better for Lee Chun Hee's character which appeared as a cameo at the end to become the second lead's character? It will be sooo much more attractive and memorable that way)
Seo In Guk was kinda a waste of talent here, he is a great actor and is definitely memorable in the right character (King Of High School, Reply Me 1997), it's quite upsetting that his character isn't as good as it could be but he was still cute and his character's interaction with Yi Ryung(Kim Yoo Ri) was absolutely adorable.

Kim Yoo Ri as Tae Yi Ryung
Tae Yi Ryung has a love hate relationship with her ex classmate, Tae Gong Shil, she started doing some mini harm to her in the beginning of the drama but ends up helping her instead haha and she ends up liking Tae Gong Shil and help her with her relationship with Joo Joong Won. She's super super adorable, probably one of the cutest and more memorable second female lead I've seen in drama land, she falls in love with Kang Woo and starts following him around like a little fan girl when she's a popular singer herself. She has some clumsy and diva side but still she is a well written character who is so lovable but still don't outshine the female lead.
Kim Yoo Ri started with small roles and i was surprised that she got casted in here as a leading role having to see her in a family drama where she played a mistress that barely appears in the drama and Cheongdamdong Alice where her character doesn't get much attention too. She was great as Yi Ryung and her career will definitely get much better after her memorable portray of Yi Ryung.

    FROM DRAMAWIKI

The show was actually full of flaws, with nonsensical storyline towards the end, the not needed extension to episode 17 and little logic (but no logic is cute sometimes haha), BUT I was so in love and into the drama it didn't affect me at all. I STILL LOVE IT SO DAMN MUCH. Something that really makes the drama work is the crazy chemistry between the two leads and the interaction of their characters, the drama could easily be just another dull rom com but the two actors played a HUGE part in making this so special and addicting.
This show has the typical Hong Sisters formula > a rich cold hearted man with a horrible attitude + candy girl and i'm happy to say the formula seems to work so well every single damn time urgh. The way they write and with different backgrounds makes it different and lovable each time, their drama are effortlessly easy and light hearted to watch with great comical vibes so they definitely deserve their fame and attention.

    IN CONCLUSION
Not flawless but so freaking enjoyable the flaws didn't bother me anyway

    Personal Rating: 10/10
How much it deserves: 9.5/10 (the drama turns out super great as a whole ok)
