Kara's secret love

I watch this show for the sake of watching because I was having exams so I had this "no full dramas rule", I didn't consider kara's secret love as a full drama as it's made up of many short stories so I probably won't get addicted and go all gaga over the drama instead of studying. (and no, i'm not a fan of KARA although I know them)

I'm going to do the review slightly differently because if I do a long review for every single story, it's going to take me forever to finish haha.

STORY 1 (EP 1 AND 2)

Characters: Han Seung Yeon as Min Ji Hye
Min Ji Hye is a model in the present world (she looks pretty successful), she becomes devastated when her boyfriend whom she has never cherished in the past died in a car accident when he was saving her. She was offered a chance to go back in time to save him and yup that's when the story begins.....
Han Seung Yeon did a pretty decent job (ok fine, it was kinda bad but compared to the others, her performance is considered decent), I find her quite stiff in some scenes but she did portray the role pretty well.

Yun Woo Jin as Jang Hyun Jin
Jang Hyun Jin is a photographer that fell in love with Min Ji Hye since he first saw her when she was a student, they started dating but he was the only one working on their relationship as Ji Hye focused on her career, she didn't want to get married although he wanted to and she didn't appreciate him. Hyun Jin continued loving her and even sacrificed himself for her but when Ji Hye time traveled back to save him, he find himself falling in love with her all over again.
I watched this before Marriage Not Dating (he is the lead there), i quite like him after watching this but i totally absolutely love him after Marriage Not Dating (i just finished the show and i'm still going gaga over it). His performance here was alright, definitely much better than Han Seung Yeon haha but they look pretty good being paired up though.

Story: I enjoyed the story and this is the best out of the 5 short stories in this drama. Time travelling has been done a billion times but this drama was short and on point (it feels like i'm watching a movie), the time travelling concept was quite well done here (although there's no logic but it's a drama right?), the story was at a really good pace that doesn't feel to rush nor to slow.

Personal Ratings: 9.5/10
How much it deserves: 9/10 (many flaws but still it was the best out of the 5)

STORY 2 (EP 3 AND 4)

Characters: Goo Hara as Hyun Jung
Hyun Jung used to be a really hardworking employee at a convenient store that constantly gets bullied by her customer, she likes her senior whom takes advantage of her despite having a girlfriend already urgh. Everything changes when she went for a check up and the doctor says that she is left with only a few months to live so she decides to live her life fully for the rest of the time she has left so she made a bucket list of stuff she wants to complete before dying.
Goo Hara did a pretty bad job here.... i'm sorry but she did so much better in City Hunter? She was quite unnatural here as compared to City Hunter which i find her quite easy to watch on screen with natural acting. Well, the blame cannot completely be on her since her character is quite a annoying character (she looks blur most of the time too).

Kim Young Kwang as Joon Moon
Joon Moon just got released from the army and find her girlfriend marrying someone else ouch. He met Goo Hara when she tried to stop him from jumping into the sea and she started stalking him as she's afraid that he will attempt to suicide again. He was quite annoyed with her but saw her bucket list by accident and find out that she is only left with a short period of time to live so he decided to help her complete her bucket list and ends up falling in love with her during their short encounter.
I've never seen Kim Young Kwang in a leading role before (I've seen him in Good Doctor but his role wasn't big so i don't really have an impression), he did a decent job as the cold Joon Moon but nothing to rave about.

Story: A bucket list story could have been well done but sad to say, the show kinda mess it up. I didn't like both of their characters and the story was just.....

Personal Ratings: 7.5/10
How much it deserves: 7/10

STORY 3 (EP 5 AND 6)

Characters: Kim Ji Young as So Yul
So Yul is a cheerful girl whom is active in school as a dancer but she has always been living with a illness and when she was performing on stage, her illness started being worse and she fainted which lead her to being send to the hospital. She ends up making friends with Hyun Joon (Bae Soo Bin) whom is a lot older than her and ultimately, she develop a crush towards him.
Kim Ji Young acted quite well and was cute throughout the show (isn't she a little old to be acting as a high school student?)

Bae Soo Bin as Hyun Joon
Hyun Joon is a guy that have been looking after his girlfriend whom is in a coma since a accident which he indirectly caused it. Hyun Joon treats So Yul as a little sister not knowing that she actually likes him more than that.
Bae Soo Bin is an actor i am super familiar with having to see him act as the guy who never gets the girl in Brilliant Legacy to the guy that let his girlfriend go to jail for him in Secret Love(not this secret love, the other one). He acts well as a warm character (i think many people still remember him as the character he was acting as in Secret Love haha), nothing fantastic to say since i don't exactly like his character too so....

Story: I didn't like it, not at all. Honestly, it isn't that bad but i just simply can't like it.

Personal Ratings: 4/10
How much it deserves: 6.5/10

STORY 4(EP 7 AND 8)

Characters: Nicole Jung as Mary
Mary is a Korean that have been living in America for all her life (that explains her blonde hair), she comes back to Korea because she have received a message asking her to claim her father's money. (she has not seen her real father before) Mary meets Tae Yang whom she didn't know she have met before and they started solving the mystery that Mary father gave in order to receive his fortune.
Nicole Jung acts the best out of the KARA members (and yes i know she left KARA a while ago along with Ji Young), her acting is really natural and she did a good job acting as Mary (honestly, Mary isn't a attractive character but somehow Nicole did a good job in portraying her by making her feel alive).

Lee Kwang Soo as Tae Yang
Tae Yang is a guy running away from debtors when he met Mary so he decides to help Mary solve her father's mystery in order to get money from her but little did they know they have met when they were kids.
Lee Kwang Soo is pretty much acting as himself in the drama haha Tae Yang is just like the real like Kwang Soo ok hahahaha so need not say, Kwang Soo did a fantastic job here. Kwang Soo looks like a gangster most of the time due to what he wears (his clothes are horrid looking), he has quite natural chemistry with Nicole and they look sooooo comfortable together which is definitely a plus point.

Story: As much as the set up of the story is quite nonsensical, the story is actually good. With a good story, great acting(best acting out of the 5 stories) and fantastic chemistry, this was a enjoyable two episode haha. (but i actually enjoyed the first story more)

Personal Ratings: 9/10
How much it deserves: 9.5/10

STORY 5(EP 9 AND 10)

Park Gyu Ri as Park Sun Woo
Park Sun Woo have been crushing on her senior since university days and she annoys the shit out of him by following him everywhere (she even ran to jeju island to work as she knows he have been transferred there), honestly, i don't like Sun Woo, she is pretty annoying despite her putting in so much effort to get her senior's love. She had a horrible first day at Jeju island so she cried and wished that she can have a true love which the next day her guardian angel appeared to help her fulfill her wish.
Park Gyu Ri's acting is quite painful to watch..... she wasn't that terrible but not pleasant on screen (her character being annoying makes it worse though)

Ji Chang Wook as Guardian Angel
Ji Chang Wook as a angel? HAHAHAHAHAHA it's just cute but i can totally imagine him being a angel even before watching it (he was hilariously innocent and blur on running man). The guardian angel appeared to help Sun Woo with her wish, he has been looking at her since birth but while he is on his mission to help her, he ends up liking her the way he shouldn't be.
Ji Chang Wook's acting has never been a problem, I've watched him in the horrible Smile Donghae and as much as the show was terrible, his acting was good throughout the 100+ episode mess.

Story: I didn't exactly like the story but it was alright, Park Gyu Ri's acting kinda make it harder for me to watch *sorry to her fans* Ji Chang Wook is definitely a plus point hehe

Personal Ratings: 8/10
How much it deserves: 8/10

OVERALL: STORY 1,4 AND 5 IS WORTH WATCHING. THE OTHER TWO NOPE. DIRECTING WAS FANTASTIC (DIRECTOR OF IT'S OK IT'S LOVE AND THAT WINTER THE WIND BLOWS DIRECTED IT). PLS DON'T EXPECT MUCH FOR ACTING AS THEY ARE IDOL WHOM DOESN'T FREQUENTLY ACT NOR ARE TRAINED TO BE ACTRESSES (ALTHOUGH SOME OF THEM HAVE HAD LEADING ROLES IN DRAMA WHICH IS IRONICAL LOL)

*sorry if i offended any KARA fans out there :b*
